Day 1…

Wednesday Night // 19/08/2015

Mark 16:15 And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.

I went into Sydenham high-street about 5.30pm. I was surprisingly nervous and just to give out the first fliers was an ordeal. I eventually got used to it and gave out a decent amount, whilst waiting for the chance to speak to someone.

After about 15 minutes, I got to speak to a 16yr old boy called Kashawn. (I think that’s how you spell it!). We spoke in light rain for about 25 mins – and I learnt a lot.

He used to believe in Jesus when he was younger but now meditates and believes in reincarnation. He told me he has had two out of body experiences and he was on his way to the local cultural shop that promotes black culture and spiritualism.

He listened as I shared my personal story from drugs to Christ and shared the Good news of the Gospel with him. Knowing I may never see him again, I mentioned that his meditation will open him up to the demonic. He shook his head in denial, and we called it a day.

What I learned

People will believe anything that suits their lifestyle. Kashawn believed the bible has been corrupted and that all people are gods…or at least have the potential to get in touch with their inner god and have true knowledge of self.

The problem is he smokes weed and has a lustful heart. Even whilst i was talking to him, his eyes would wander towards and female walking by. All the ‘knowledge’ and meditation he did, was not able to change him morally or break his addictions.

2 Timothy 4:2-4 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, 4 and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths

Please join me in prayer for him.

Reader!! Have you shared you faith this week? This is what we are called to do. though we rejoice when a soul turns to Jesus, we are not result oriented, but obedient to the heavenly call of preaching the gospel.

Go & Declare

Yours in Christ
